Obituary of Richard Gardner
Richard L. Gardner Sr., of Ft. McCoy, Florida passed away on November 6, 2009 at Munroe
Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Florida. He was born on August 16, 1927 in Syracuse, NY. His
family moved to Florida in the mid 1930's and he served in the Navy during and after WWII in the
Pacific Theater and will rest in peace at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. He
was a food broker for John Owens Co in Miami for 22 years before retiring and moving to the Ocala
Forest area in 1974. Dick loved the people he interacted with at his church. He was an avid
golfer, practical joker, loved people and always had an upbeat attitude. He will be missed by
all. He is survived by a son, Richard Jr of Ormond Beach, Fl, a daughter, Linda Inzerello of San
Antonio, Tx, his loving friend and companion, Mary Cromer of Ft. McCoy, a stepson, William
Nesmith of Georgia and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be
held at the 1st Baptist Church of Orange Springs 22800 NE Hwy 315, Orange Springs Fl 32182 on
Thursday November 12, 2009 at 3:00 PM. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that a
contribution is sent in Mr. Gardner's name to the 1st Baptist Church of Orange
Springs.
