Obituary of Michael D. Hughes

Michael David Hughes, 65, of Summerfield,Fl went home to the Lord on November 9, 2009. He was born on September 28, 1944 in Long Beach, CA. He moved to Summerfield in 2004 from McDonough, GA after retiring from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Mr Hughes was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church where he served on the vestry and as a lector and lay Eucharistic minister. He also was a member of the church building committee and the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew. Mr. Hughes cherished his friends and enjoyed playing golf. He was devoted to his family and is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Becky (Thomas) Hughes, his children, Christi and Bryan Schien of Macon, GA, Scott Hughes, McDonough, GA, his mother, Wilma Bershire, Albany, GA, and his father-in-law, Bill Thomas, Conyers, GA, 5 grandchildren, Michelle, Becky and Joseph Thublin and Amber and Elizabeth Hughes, sisters and brothers, Linda and Rick Sturk, Knoxville, TN, James and Debbie Thomas, Conyers GA, and Jack and Sue Thomas, Cumming, GA and multiple nieces and nephews.
