Obituary of Edward John Ondrasik
Mr. Ondrasik, age 89, of The Villages, passed away at Villages Hospice House on November
24, 2009. Born in Guttenberg, New Jersey, May 9, 1920. He was a retired secondary school teacher,
Director of Athletics at West Point Prep School in Newburgh, NY and Director of Athletics at the
Bainbridge Naval Training Center in Maryland. A veteran US Army Air Corps serving in WW II, with
26 missions over Germany. He retired from Ocean Pines, Maryland to The Villages in 1997. Mr.
Ondrasik was a member of American Legion, Athletic Hall of Fame- Roanoke College. He was an avid
sports fan and loved Washington Redskins football and Rice University Baseball, and he enjoyed
playing golf, tennis and many other sports. Survivors include Barbara (Pally) Ondrasik, wife,
The Villages, Florida; Barbara (Bobbi) Manuel, daughter (son-in-law Roger), Satellite Beach, FL;
Michael Ondrasik, son, (daughter-in-law Kate), Mt. Dora, FL; granddaughter Julie Manuel, a senior
at the University of South Florida; and grandson Craig Manuel, a sophomore at Rice University in
Houston, TX. Preceded in death by a daughter Allison Ondrasik King.
