Obituary of Jack Wilson
Jack A. Wilson of Ocklawaha, FL, 79, passed away on Sat. Dec 5th 2009. Jack was born in
Venango, PA on Nov 21, 1930 and was raised in Cambridge Springs, PA. He joined the US NAVY
serving in the Korean War. He was the first paid Volunteer Firefighter in Broward County FL and
served on both the New Rivers Volunteer FD and the Hollywood FD for a total of 24 years. The
positions he held were paramedic, driver-engineer, and chief. He was a 25 year member of the Navy
Amateur Radio Club. He was a loving husband, uncle, brother, a loyal friend, and an avid bass
fisherman. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 59 years, Grace, brother Russell of Cambridge
Springs, PA, sister Evalyn Petsche of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and several nieces and nephews. A
Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, Dec 8, 2009 at 2pm at Hiers Funeral Home at 910 E
Silver Springs Blvd. Luncheon to follow at Lake and Forest Club in Ocklawaha, FL.
