Obituary of Marilyn Chmielewski

Marilyn Sylvia Chmielewski (Garey) beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away Friday, December 11, 2009 at The Villages Regional Hospital in The Villages, Florida. Marilyn was born February 9, 1943 in Lebanon, New Hampshire to Ralph Frederick and Sylvia Marie Garey (Heron). She grew up in Manchester Connecticut, graduated in 1961 from Manchester High School and obtained her Associates of Arts Degree from Manchester Community College. After retiring from a 25 year career with Southern New England Telephone Company in Connecticut, Marilyn and her husband Leonard moved to The Villages, Florida in 2000. At the time of her death Marilyn was employed by The Villages Sales Center as Real Estate Sales Representative. Marilyn is remembered by family and friends as a strong, vivacious and passionate woman. She lived her life to the fullest until the end. The memories that Marilyn made for her family are beyond comprehension: special visits, touching moments, gifts, celebrations and incredible love. Marilyn was a wonderful neighbor, friend and community member - at her home town in Manchester, Connecticut, her job at Southern New England Telephone and even more so as both an employee, a friend and a neighbor, in The Villages, Florida. She was held in the highest esteem by her clients and co-workers as a real estate agent in The Villages and many of them ended up as close friends. Her love of life, spunk, strength, friendship and love will be missed by many. In addition to her loving husband of 43 years, Leonard W. Chmielewski, Marilyn is survived by her son Todd Chmielewski and his wife Dawn of Marlborough, Connecticut; stepson Mitchell Yencha and his wife Maria of Rochester Hills, Michigan; sisters Patricia Caruso and husband Leonard of Marion, Florida, Geraldine Simmons and husband Clark of Bradford, Arkansas and Cynthia Muldoon and husband Brian of Manchester, Connecticut as well as a daughter in law Loretta Chmielewski of East Hartford, Connecticut. Marilyn is also survived by 6 grandchildren Danielle Chmielewski of East Hartford, Connecticut, Dana and Nicholas Chmielewski of Marlborough, Jake and Rachel Yencha of Rochester Hills, Michigan, and Melanie Pover of Orlando, Florida. She is also survied by 6 nieces and nephews Tracy Hofmann, Jamie Edison, Jaimie Capps, Krista Berquist, Jesse Muldoon and Justin Muldoon. Marilyn was predeceased by her son Jeffrey A. Chmielewski and her brother Roy Garey.
