Obituary of Anive Shafer
Anive Shafer Born to Leon and Lula Perry in Oak, Florida, Anive spent her early years in
Pine, a rural community west of Fort McCoy, Florida. She attended Anthony High School where she
sang in the chorus and played on the girls basketball team. Anive was preceded in death by her
husband, Homer P. Shafer, as well as her brothers, Doyle Jackson Perry, L.D. Perry, and Reginald
Perry and her grandson, Casey Shafer. Anive is survived by her three children, Paul (Lynn) Shafer
of Mott, ND, Cherry (Jack) Ethridge of Ocala, FL and Gloria Fuentes also of Ocala, FL. She is
survived by her grandchildren, Mike (Tracey) Ethridge of Ocala, FL, Terri (Bill) Aiken of Irmo,
SC, and Karol (Daniel) Williams of Arkansas, and eight great-grandchildren. Anive loved the Lord
and served him faithfully. She loved her church and especially her Sunday School class. She will
be missed greatly by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to
your favorite charity. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 6th at First Baptist
Church of Ocala at 2:00 PM.
