Obituary of Sybil Bray
BRAY, SYBIL JUNE BROWNE, 86 Sybil June Browne Bray born June 24, 1923, a native of
Ocala, FL., passed on December 29, 2009. She was in the WAVES in WWII, and was a local historian,
story teller, and author of the series "Salty Crackers". She was a charter member of the General
Robert Bullock Chapter of the Confederacy. Sybil was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and
was the wife of the late J. W. Bray. She is survived by her three children: Steve (Karen Bray),
Bob (Barbara Bray), Nancy (Jimmy Bowden), eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and
one great, great-grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Doris Browne and Ann
Ryan and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends for a viewing at 1pm on
Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala Chapel followed by a funeral
ceremony at 2pm. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
