Obituary of William Bill Lewis Strine
STRINE, WILLIAM LEWIS, 83 William Bill Lewis Strine, Mr. Tremendous, 83 passed away
Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Munroe Regional Medical Center in downtown Ocala, FL. Bill is
survived by June, his wife of 59 years, son Bill Strine and daughter -in- law Holly of St.
Augustine, and grandsons Brennan and Cameron. Bill was born in Strinestown, PA, raised in York,
served in the Navy during WWII, moved to Miami in 1948, and married June in 1950. He worked his
way up through the ranks at the Transit Authority in Miami - Dade County from the parts dept. to
Deputy Director, the position from which he retired after 33 years. Bill and June moved to Ocala
in 1987, where they remained active in service to our Lord as members of Berean Baptist Church in
Ocala. Bill served as Treasurer and Finance Secretary at the churches where they have been
members. Among his passions were serving the Savior Jesus Christ, in whose arms he now rests, his
family, and his country. Public viewing and services will be held at Hiers - Baxley Funeral
Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 2:00pm. A visitation
will also be held on Monday from 1:00pm until the time of the service. Interment will follow at
