Obituary of John Tickner

TICKNER, JOHN "Bill" WILLIAM Ocala - John "Bill" William Tickner, 83, passed away on January 22, 2010 in Ocala, FL. Mr. Tickner was born in Westport, CT and moved to Ocala in 1957. John was very proud of being an Eagle Scout with Boy Scouts of America. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in WWII. Mr. Tickner was an administrator for 37 years with the Marion Co. Blood Bank. He was in the Florida Garden Railroad Society, Orchid Society and a member of All Saints Anglican Church of Palatka, FL. He is survived by his wife Judy Tickner; daughters, Dawn Leslie and Wendy Shawiak of Ocala; sisters, Edith Silver of NJ and Anne ….of PA.; three grandchildren, Zachary Shawiak, Alexis Shawiak, and Kaleb Leslie. Services will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Rev. John R. Jacobs officiating.
