Obituary of Lourine Badger Dutton
Lourine "Rene" Badger Dutton, age 84, Homemaker, of Ocala, FL passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2010. She was born on May 23, 1925 in Ocala. She was a 1943 graduate of Ocala High School. During her early years she worked at the Commercial Bank and Trust Co. in Ocala which later became Sun Bank and eventually Sun Trust. She met and married Horace W. Badger and together they raised three children. She was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Ocala. She served as Committee Co-Chair for the United Methodist Children's Home, and served as Co-Chair and Treasurer of their high school class reunions. Lourine was an avid Bridge Player and she loved making ceramics. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #27 of Ocala where she served as Chaplain, was a lifetime member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter # 29 of Ocala, served as Mother Advisor for the Order of Rainbow for Girls during the 1970's where she was known as "Mama Rene", was a member of United Daughters of the Confederacy and Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her husband W. Conrad Dutton; daughter Beverly (Dudley) Hardy of Starke, FL; twins Rebecca (Andy) Long of Ocala and William (Debra) Badger of Jacksonville, FL; 5 grandsons Tommy, Billy, Matthew, Jonathan and Brian; and 5 great grandchildren Dejah, Thomas, Bailey, Brayden and Van. She was preceded in death by husband Horace W. Badger, brother Thomas E. "Tommy" Hooker and parents Ernest and Azilee Hooker. A visitation will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs, Ocala on Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 1126 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11:00 am.
