Obituary of Jack Hudson

Jack C. Hudson, 80, of Chiefland died Feb. 17, 2010 in Gainesville. Born in Greenville, FL, he came to Chiefland in 1954, left the area and returned in 1963. He was a heavy equipment operator for 58 years, working for White Construction. He was a member of the Sirmons Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed working, but got the most pleasure spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sara Hudson, daughters Jacqueline Matthews and Linda McLellan, all of Chiefland, sisters Edith Slaughter of Bradenton, FL and Sarah Goodman of Burlington, NC, 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Chiefland with Pastor Travis Hudson officiating. Burial will be at Hardeetown Methodist Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 19 from 5:00 -7:00 PM at the funeral home.
