Obituary of Rosalie Watson
Ocala - Rosalie (McGough) Watson, died March 10, 2010 in Ocala, FL. Rosalie was born September 25, 1918 in Summerhill, PA. She was a farm girl from a family of nine and played basketball in high school. She was a faithful wife to Doss Kemmer Watson, Sr. who passed away in 1995. She worked in a Sylvania war plant during World War II and was a seamstress in a sewing factory in Nanty-Glo, PA until she and Doss moved to Ocala, Florida in 1960. She continued as a seamstress at the former Lady Bayard factory in Ocala until she retired in 1980. Her favorite pastime was making beautiful quilts and crochet pieces. Mrs. Watson was a dedicated charter member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. She is survived by a daughter Gail Watson of Ocala; sons James R. McGough of Ocala and Doss Watson; grandchildren Keith, Pamela, Shannon, and Shawn; great grandchildren, Megan, Ryan, Kendra; and sister Isabel Schrift of Wyomissing, PA; and three faithful grand-doggies. She was preceded in death by sisters, June Schrift, Natalie Beaner, Elaine Schrift and brothers, Delbert, Russell, Oscar, and Walter McGough. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church with Rev. Anna Figueiro officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, March 14th at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
