I am saddened not seeing anyone post anything about this kind hearted man. He always had a smile on his face, and knew no strangers. Ralph was a good man, that put on a smile to cover up the pain he carriered around.
Ralph hired my mother whom had no formal training, but he gave her an opportunity that is to this day unheard of. My mother would go on to be well known in our and neighboring counties for drawing much of the civil drafts of development done back then.
Ralph was family. He hired me right out of high school. I worked along side of his son Tiger, and was friends with his daughter Julie. I was married on a Friday in Pace, FL. and started working for Ralph in Gadsden, AL. on
a Monday. Times were hard in the early 80's. Work was scarce, and this man would keep me on the clock doing yard work at his house so I could feed my "then" Small family. I have thought about this many times since then.
We were also frequently invited to his house to eat and socialize. He was married to Beth and had a toddler named Normand. I have lost track of all of them, though I continue to search online again often and of which is howI found this oobituary.
Ralph Young was my friend, and I will always remember his Ginuwine kindness. I wish everyone could have known him, and that those whom did knew him as I did.
Rest in Peace my friend, I pray we will see one another again. God Bless All of your kids, and all whom took the time to read this.
