Obituary of Merlene C. Pruitt

Mrs. Merlene C. Pruitt, 83, of Ocala, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Oakhurst Rehabilitation Center. She moved to Ocala in 1947 from Blackshear, GA. She was the last surviving child of the 14 children of Jody and Martha Janie Clark. A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, and her family. Mrs. Pruitt was of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by her son Warren Bullard, step-sons William Pruitt, Bruce Pruitt, and Steve Pruitt, as well as her 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Lester Bullard and Paul Pruitt. Visitation will be held from 5-7 Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Brother's Keeper or Interfaith Emergency Services.
