Obituary of Frances Jones

Frances Wenona Waddington Jones 94 Pioneer and Native of Crystal River passed away Tuesday April 6, 2010 at Hospice of Citrus County in Lecanto, Florida. Mrs. Jones was the daughter of John Henry Waddington and Lula (Boswell) Waddington. Raised on Waddington Island southwest of Crystal River, Fl. She attended Rochelle Island School in Ozello and later graduated from Crystal River High School. After graduation she married Raddie Jones on Valentine's Day of 1934. In 1942 they began a small gas and sandwich shop on Highway 19 known to many today as "Jones Restaurant". Mrs. Jones loved to fish, camp, garden, and harvest oysters. She also loved to travel and visited such places as Normandy, France to visit the grave of her brother-in-law Luther Willis who died in W.W. II and England where the Waddington Family originated, but her love was always to return to and be in Crystal River. Mrs. Jones was a charter member of Crystal River Church of God where she remained active until her death. Frances is survived by her brothers James Oscar Waddington of Jacksonville, Fl.; and Luther Harold Waddington of Satsuma and Crystal River, Fl.; Her sisters-in-law Hazel Jones of Lecanto, Fl.; Olive Yeomans of Machon, Ga.; and Doris Waddington of Crystal River, along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 76 years Raddie Jones (1995) and her sisters Myrtice, Ruby, Mable, Jessie, and her brothers Frank, Joe, and John, along with many many friends. Funeral Service for Mrs. Jones will be Saturday April 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Crystal River Church of God 2180 N.W. 12th Avenue in Crystal River, Fl. with Pastor Ronnie Reid officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday April 9, 2010 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Crystal River Church of God. Interment will follow the service at Crystal River Memorial Park-Crystal River, Florida
