Obituary of Norma Lillian Scroggie

SCROGGIE, Norma L. Summerfield - Norma L. Scroggie, 89 of Summerfield, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Tuscany House. She was born on January 3, 1921 in Summerfield on land that was homesteaded in 1884. She grew up on this farm where she also raised her three sons with her husband, Ralph Scroggie. She was a life-long resident of Marion Co. Norma was a Baptist and attended Community Baptist Church. She also was a "Pink Lady" hospital volunteer at Munroe Regional Medical Center for a number of years. Norma was an avid tennis player who also enjoyed bowling. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph T. Scroggie in 1981. Norma is survived by her three sons, Casey Scroggie (Mary), Steve Scroggie and Gene Scroggie (Anita); 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 between 5:30-7:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview where chapel services will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Garden in Ocala.
