Obituary of Ruth Laura Colepaugh

Mrs. Ruth Colepaugh, 84, of Ocala, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Sylvia's Hospice House. A native of Winston-Salem, NC, she moved to this area in 1995, coming here from Clemmons, NC. Mrs. Colepaugh was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocala, where she was a member of the Forever Young Senior Adult Group. Growing up, she was a member of the National Honor Society. She retired after many years as a secretary with the Southern Railroad. Her hobbies include gardening, especially growing roses, crafts, quilting, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter Brooke Thomas of Charlotte, NC, son Philip Colepaugh, Charlotte, brothers Clyde Johnson, Jesup, GA, Ralph Johnson, Ocala, Robert Johnson, Advance, NC, Dan Johnson, Tampa, and grandchildren Courtney Thomas and Jason Colepaugh. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1999. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, with Dr. Edward D. Johnson officiating.
