Obituary of Amelia H. Hughes
Amelia H. Hughes, of Belleview, died Monday, April 26th at Munroe Emergency Center at TimberRidge. Born in the "Meadows" area of Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Hughes retired from banking in Las Vegas, Nevada and has been a longtime resident of Ocala, Florida. She was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. She enjoyed traveling, was a good cook and baker, and will be remembered for her exceptional care and adoption of animals.
She like to say she was hitched in the great state of Wyoming and was married for 50 years to her late husband Walter D. Hughes. She was also predeceased by her parents Joseph and Helen Narbutis and her siblings Jay, Albert and Joseph and niece Christine.
She is survived by her nieces Helen, Theresa and Anne, nephews, Albert and Stephen as well as her sister in law Alice and close friends Susan and Steven Miller and all of their extended families.
Services will be provided by Hiers-Baxley of Belleview with the Visitation on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Ocala, followed by her Memorial Mass and Internment at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
