Obituary of Shirley Ross

Fairfield - Shirley Elaine Ross, 77, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at her home. Born in Washington D.C., she moved to South Florida in 1954 and to Fairfield, FL in 1975. While in South Florida she enjoyed dancing, water skiing, fishing, and sewing. After moving to Fairfield, she worked as a manager of Mae's Fabrics and worked for 10 years at the guest information desk at the Paddock Mall. She was an active member of Flemington Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter Karen Hinson of Citra, daughter Carol Curry (James Allen Curry, Jr.) of Ocala; son William H. Ross Jr. of Perry; daughter Kathy Ross Norman of Ocala, daughter Janet Arndt (Herb Arndt) of Ocala; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband William H. Ross Sr. A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Flemington Baptist Church, 18250 NW 100th Ave. Road with Pastor Paul Daniel officiating. A visitation will be held from 5 - 7 PM on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services - Ocala Chapel, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd. A second visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at Flemington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flemington Baptist Church.
