Obituary of Janet Welsh

Janet Marie Welsh of Santo Domingo in The Villages died Monday May 17 due to health complications. Mrs. Welsh was born on January 23, 1938, in Charleston, W.Va., to Luther and Goldie Hill. She was a model and placed in local beauty pageants. She married her high-school sweetheart, Donald E. Welsh, in 1959, and they had a son and a daughter. They moved to Laurel in 1970. In 1999 she retired from an accounting firm, and they moved to The Villages shortly thereafter, where Donald Welsh passed away in 2001. Mrs. Welsh was a very gentle and elegant lady, she loved cats, enjoyed tennis, golf, and bocce ball. She will be missed greatly by her family and everyone who knew her. Mrs. Welsh is survived by her son, Mark Welsh, of Madison, Wi. A memorial service will be held in Madison in her honor.
