Obituary of Phillip Wayne McNamee

Phillip Wayne McNamee passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2010 at the age of 61 years old. He is a retired Inspector for the Marion County Sheriff's Office where he served for over 30 years. Phillip received many awards through the Sheriff's Office including a Medal of Commendation and Medal of Distinction. He was also an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider and enjoyed trips to the beach. He lived life to the fullest and always said, "You can't pull a Uhaul behind a hearse" and "It's 5 o'clock somewhere." Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Maria McNamee; daughters, Lisa Whitston, Nicole McNamee, Theresa Jeffries and Keri McNamee; grandchildren, Joshua Whitston, Adam Whitston, Jonathan Thorton, Tiffany and Gracie Thorton; sisters, Patsy Matthews and Phyllis Spears; and son-in-law, Robert Jeffries. A visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Marion County Kidney Foundation. A trust fund has been set up for Phil's daughter Keri McNamee.
