Obituary of Peter Lameka

LAMEKA, Peter, Jr., MD Dr. Peter Lameka, Jr., 76, of Ocala, died Monday, June 21, 2010, at Munroe Regional Medical Center. A native of Milwaukee, WI, he moved to Ocala in 2000, coming here from Fripp Island, SC. He was a graduate of Marquette Medical School, and after serving his internship, he served in the US Army, earning the rank of Captain before his discharge. After the military he returned to Milwaukee for further medical training, and worked primarily in the heart surgery area, later becoming the Chief of Anesthesia at St. Lukes Hospital. He retired in 1991 to enjoy his many hobbies, which included fishing, golfing, and airplanes, both full size and radio controlled planes. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lisa, and his children Lynn Wenger, Peter Lameka, Ann Lameka, Stephen Lameka, Mary Ellen Lameka, sister Marilyn Hosmanek, and 5 grandchildren. Services for Dr. Lameka will be held at 11 AM Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, with Rev. Tom Carson officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
