Obituary of Barbara Ann Martin

MARTIN, BARBARA ANN Ocala - Barbara Ann Martin, 82, passed away on June 26, 2010. She was born Nov. 8, 1927 in Leesburg, FL. She graduated from high school in Leesburg and began employment with Florida Telephone (later changed to United, Sprint and Embarq). She transferred to Ocala in 1947 where she met and married Edwin O. Martin, Sr. Mrs. Martin raised her family in Ocala and retired from the telephone company in 1992. Mrs. Martin is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Edwin O. Martin, Sr., her daughters, Edwina (John) Moore, Cynthia Carter and Cecelia (Dennis) Jones, her son, Edwin O. (Sherri) Martin, Jr., all of Ocala. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Bernard Shore and Maude Valentine Shore (Jones) and 3 brothers, Herbert, Jack and William Shore. She is survived by 2 sisters, Charlotte Farlow of Eustis and Betty Jo (Troy) McLean of Leesburg, Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens.
