Obituary of Frederick L. Phin
Ocala - Frederick L. Phin, 80, died June 30, 2010 at Sylvia's Hospice. Mr. Phin was born in Manhattan, NY to James F. Phin and Florence Logan. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in World War II and was a founding member of the Suffolk County Police Dept, LI retired after 28 years of service. They moved to Ocala in 1991, where he was a member and elder at Countryside Presbyterian Church, volunteer at the Munroe Regional Medical Center, and the Marion County Sheriff's Dept. He spent his free time playing golf, playing and calling BINGO, but most of all laughing and reminiscing with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Norma E Phin of Ocala; daughters, Joy Braciszewski and husband Ken of Hendersonville, TN and Donna Jurena and husband David of Crete, NE; sons, Wayne Phin and wife Cathy of Central Islip, NY and Frederick L Phin, Jr. and wife Teresa of Hauppauge, NY; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and his faithful companion, Fang. A memorial service will be held July 6, 2010 at 11:00am at Countryside Presbyterian Church, 7768 SW Highway 200, Ocala, Florida 34476 with Dr. Gary O. Marshall officiating. Visitation will be held July 2, 2010, 6:00-8:00pm at Hiers-Baxley, Timberridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Countryside Presbyterian Church.
