Obituary of Robert Dilkes

DILKES, ROBERT O., 88 Ocklawaha - Robert O. Dilkes, 88, of Ocklawaha, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Sylvia's Hospice House. A native of Bridgeton, NH, he moved to Ocklawaha from Hedgesville, WV in the 80's. Mr. Dilkes operated Dilkes Welding Service for about 30 years before retiring. He also served in the Army during WW II and Korea. After retirement he was involved with Antique Tractors, being a long time member of the Florida Flywheeler and North Florida Flywheeler Associations. Mr. Dilkes was preceded in death by his first wife, A. Edna Ross-Dilkes, infant daughter and his second wife, Dale Hendel-Dilkes. Survivors include his wife, Alvene Johnson-Dilkes; son and daughter-in-law, Ike and Debbie Dilkes of Cordova, MD; daughter, Gloria Shade of Martinsburg, WV; 3 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
