Obituary of Ethan Allen Thomas

THE VILLAGES — Ethan Allen Thomas, 89, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010. Mr. Thomas was born in Richardson, Texas, and moved to The Villages from Beverly Hills in 1994. He had retired as a foreman after 34 years with N.Y. Telephone Company; he was a Baptist; a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and the USS Santa Fe CL60 Association; he enjoyed golf, fishing and gardening; and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Irene; daughters Susan Irene Formato, Bronxville, N.Y., Nancy Jeanne Fallow, San Diego, Calif.; son, Eugene, Bethlehem, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services of The Villages. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment with military honors will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Online condolences may be left at hiers-baxley.com.
