Obituary of Michael Horhota

OCALA — Michael Horhota, 90, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010. Mr. Horhota was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Ocala from there in 1975. He was retired from the New York Police Department after 30 years; member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Belleview; VFW Post No. 8083; and a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Nellie A.; sons Michael J., Kennewick, Wash., Robert M. and David J., both of Ocala; sisters Stella Horhota, Sparkill, N.Y., Helen Simon, Eastlake, Ohio; and two grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Belleview, with Monsignor James Lichtenthal officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Theresa Catholic Church, 11528 S. U.S. Highway 301, Belleview, FL 34420-4430.
