Obituary of Robert Francis Rosasco

Robert Francis Rosasco, Sr., "Bob", 81, of The Villages, Florida, previously of Trumbull, CT, passed away on August 24, 2010. He was married for 52 years to his beloved wife, Gloria Angelina (Tesauro) Rosasco. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to August and Marie Rose Rosasco on August 14, 1929 and graduated from St. Francis Prepatory High School. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Philips Medical Systems for many years during which time he relocated his family from New York to Connecticut. He was a member of the Trumbull Town Council and a proud member of the Trumbull High School Marching Band Parent Association during his daughters' high school years. He retired from Peoples Bank in 1994. Along with his wife, he is survived by his three children, Robert Francis Rosasco, Jr, Lori Rosasco Schwartz (Stuart) all of Trumbull, CT and Linda Rosasco (Brian) of Cumberland, RI, his nine grandchildren, Dr. Sara Nitcher (Sean) of Charlottesville, VA, Robert Francis III, Esq., of Orange, CT, Erin Rosasco of Southbury, CT, Stephanie, Nicole and Justin Schwartz of Trumbull, CT, Matthew, Lauren and Jake Smith of Cumberland, RI and his newborn great granddaughter, Katie Marie Nitcher of Charlottesville, VA. He is also survived by his sister Janet McDonnell of Short Hills, NJ, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 8:30 am at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church, Wildwood. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veteran's Association, Hospice of Marion County or The Salvation Army. A special thank you to the staff of Arbor Village Rehab Center, the Ocala Medical Center and the Tuscany Hospice House for the compassionate care he received during his final months.
