Hey Daddy. I wish you were still here for me to tell you that I am going to have a baby. I found out a couple hours before we left for Florida to see you. I couldn't wait to tell you, but we didn't make it in time to even say good-bye to you. I think it's so weird that within a couple of hours of Jake and I finding out, you were gone. I don't know what it's supposed to mean, if anything at all. Maybe it will be a boy so we can name him after you. Daddy, I know i might not have been your daughter by blood but from the day you adopted me you have been my daddy.You were always the one to support me in every way rather it was a good decision i made or even a bad one. You were my reason for everything an my inspiration, you made me who i am today. Thank you for never letting me give up on things and reminding me that things happen for a reason. I wish i could tell you how much you really ment to me and how much i appreciated everything you ever did. You are the most amazing Father anyone could ask for and i know that all of us ( the kids) are greatful you were our daddy. Im gonna miss all the times i was sick even when i was pregnant you told me to sit on your lap and i did and you would hold me until i felt better. Doug, you were a free spirit all the years I knew you, you were my first love and together we had two beautiful children, that I am forever indebted to you, I had the opportunity to be with you and our children together again, one last time as you took your final breath, I will always remember your beautiful blue eyes as you looked at me that day and held my hand and you thanked me for being there with Kevin and Shannon. Doug, that is so like you. It should have been me thanking you. I always held you close to my heart and I will always carry you with me. Uncle Doug. You are and will always be one of the best things that ever happened to me. It's funny.. He always kept my "Getting in trouble secrets" when I was a teenager. Like sneaking out of the house and having 1 too many and trying to come back in the window.. He was standing there saying "Girl git back in this house before you wake your Mama." The next morning he took me and my friend fishing knowing that the rippling water would make me sick.. He laughed at me all day long.. That is just one of many stories I have. I love you so much.. My little brother who always had a smile on his face as a little boy. He had the biggest blue eyes you have ever seen. Loved the outdoors especiallly fishing. He did not like arguing or confrontations so would just leave the area and his favorite saying was-I don't care. He loved his family and I was fortunate as his only sister to spend 3 wonderful days with him in the last two weeks at my condo on the beach. We relived our childhood and had some great laughs and a few tears. I will miss him and love him very much.
