Obituary of Elizabeth L. Checksfield

THE VILLAGES — Elizabeth L. Checksfield, 83, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010. Mrs. Checksfield was born in Syracuse, N.Y., and moved to The Villages from Syracuse in 1999. She was a retired payroll supervisor for Agway, Inc.; attended St. Timothy Catholic Community; and she enjoyed knitting, ceramics and gardening. Survivors include her husband, Donald; daughters Donna Adkins, Tallahassee, Judith Lownsbury, Chittenango, N.Y., Karen Ciesielski, Flushing, Mich., Janet Fonger, Spring Lake, Mich.; sons Philip, Papillion, Neb., Don, Hurley, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at St. Timothy Catholic Community, Lady Lake. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
