Obituary of Edna Mae Wise

SUMMERFIELD — Edna Mae Wise, 81, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010. Mrs. Wise was born in Miami, and moved here from Miami in 1969. She was a retired senior coordinator for Martin-Marietta; member of First Baptist Church of Summerfield; active in Sunday School, visiting and church social groups. She also enjoyed her dog, crafting, and was a very outdoorsy person. Survivors include her son Gerald Turner, California; sisters Wanda Mathers, Ocala, and Cheryl Baker, North Carolina; brother Darrell Bacon, Georgia; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Belleview. Burial will follow at Crum Cemetery, Summerfield. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Belleview, is in charge of arrangements.
