Obituary of Fred Adams

Fred Adams, Jr. Ocala, FL, departed this life on September 21, 2010 in Ocala, FL, in peace and with his heart filled with memories and gratitude for his "Good Life." He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Dot) Grabusky Adams, his siblings, Cleo Smith and Kenneth Adams and his parents Fred and Elsie Adams of West Virginia. He is survived by his sister, Betty Jean Adams Pullman, of Dunnsville, Virginia, four of her children, Diane Mooney, Susan Troulis, John Pullman and Dan Pullman and niece Jean Ice. Fred spent his final years in Ocala, Florida, happily playing with close friends and neighbors, Suzy and Soug Barnett and Diana Wyatt, among others. Countless times, he expressed his love for his friends and he reveled in their companionship. Born in Pine Bluff, WV, on August 16, 1923, Fred's childhood was spent in West Virginia. He then joined the Civil Conservation Corps before entering the US Navy and serving in WWII. An employee of Electric Boat Company and a confirmed bachelor, he married Dot in 1970. After many years in Connecticut, they retired to Florida, moving eventually from Sarasota to his well loved home in Ocala. Friends may gather at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Service, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala, on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. The service will be at 10:00AM in the Chapel on Saturday, September 25, 2010 and final rest will follow beside his wife in Highland Memorial Park, Ocala.
