Obituary of Mildred R. Brophy

Brophy, Mildred R. SUMMERFIELD — Mildred Rita Brophy, 86, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010. Mrs. Brophy was born in Lowell, Mass., and moved to Summerfield from there in 1989. She was a housewife; member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Community; avid golfer; enjoyed tennis, reading; and was a former member of Spruce Creek New England Club. Survivors include her husband, William F.; daughter, Jo Ann L., Cocoa Beach; son, Lawrence M. II, Stratham, N.H.; brother; Donald Carroll, Lowell; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Community, Summerfield. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 11, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services of The Villages. Inurnment will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 14, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
