Obituary of Eddie Lou Hammerschmidt

Eddie Lou "Wisty" Hammerschmidt, of Ocala, Florida died Tuesday, October 13th, 2010 while resting peacefully in her sleep. Born in Orlando, Florida, February 11th, 1945 to J.W. and Oneida Mixon, Wisty was well known for her signing talent and professional accomplishments. She flew for National Airlines from 1966 through 1973 and continued her work within the airline industry until she retired in 2004. Wisty was an avid skier and member of the Miami Ski Club. She loved gardening and was also an accomplished seamstress. Wisty was preceded in this life by her late husband Michael, and is survived by her sister Deanna Wilson; her step-son David, his wife Donna, step-son Mark and her grand-children Ashley, Ethan, and William. A visitation will be held from 9am to 11am, immediately followed by funeral services, on October 18th, 2010 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, Ocala, Florida 352-629-7171. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and the Police Officer's Assistance Trust of Miami-Dade (POAT).
