Carol is a dear friend of my mother and a wonderful lady. I liked her warm, loving, and fun personality, admired her strength and courage, especially as she dealt with her illness, and love her so much for being such a great friend to my mom. I am so sorry that we all had to let go of Carol before we should have, and I will miss her. I know my mother and the rest of your friends and family will keep you in their hearts and minds, Carol, and your sweet spirit will be long remembered and greatly missed.

Very seldom in my life have I known as gracious and genuinely good a person as Carol. Her unwillingness to let her illness define her was an inspiration. She faced the harsh reality of her suffering with the strong will that was under her soft appearance. I admired her strength and perseverance. I love her dearly.
The Ya Yas always had a great time when we were together. We laughed and told stories of our lives and after we left each other, we were better able to face whatever was going on in our lives. Each time was a little celebration of our lives together and apart. I always will miss her but I am comforted by knowing that all of Heaven greeted her with joy and rejoicing. I know that I will see her again in a new body.
The main thing that dominated Carol was her love of her family. She told me so many times of the joy of having Fred take care of her "like a baby" in her last days. He was the first, and only, love of her life. Shawn and his children brought many smiles to her face as she told us of the funny and loving times that she was had with them. It meant so much to her that Tony was able to move back with them so she could see more of him. I once teasingly asked her which of the people in her life that she loved best, and she looked totally blank. After I stopped laughing, she told me that she couldn't even begin to think of who she loved best because she loved them all so much that there was no end to her love.

I had the good fortune of meeting Carol about four years ago. I met her through my good friend Terri Harris. I was invited along with the Ya Ya's on some of their outings where I also had the pleasure of meeting Larraine. Carol was always full of life and always wore a smile. I loved hearing her tell about her animals that she loved so much; the cats, the 2 dauchunds and the Panda the dog out back. She spoke of them as they were an important part of her family. I also heard about her two sons that she was so proud of, her lovely grandchildren that she adored and her husband Fred. Carol was a strong woman, and never gave up the fight to her cancer. She was kind and caring and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Carol was a dear friend to me. I have so many favorite memories of her. She was one of the most kind and tender hearted people, I've had the good fortune to know and love. We met at work, E-One, about 12 years ago and instantly became close friends. Every morning we would sit with coffee/tea in hand and talk about our lives. Carol always had a funny story to tell about one of her cats, dogs, living in the wilderness, her sons Tony and Shawn, and of course her wonderful husband Fred. Then one day another person joined our work session, Larraine. Then there were three. I can't remember who came up with the name. The movie was popular at the time. It was called the Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Our friendship was so strong; just like the woman in the movie. So we called ourselves the YaYa's and wore funny hats once or twice. Nothing was so dear to me though than getting together and telling stories and secrets about our loved ones. Yes, I know things about y'all. Our favorite restaurant was Harry's on the square. Gosh we spent hours there eating fried shrimp and oysters. Oh, there was a lot of talking in-between bites. I was also blessed to have spent two weeks in Italy with Carol. There are so many memories stored in my heart from that trip. Carol was so happy and loved seeing the beautiful scenes of Italy. She loved meeting Fred's family. It's no wonder. They are awesome. They pinched her cheeks and fed all of us until we couldn't move. The love and beauty of that trip to Italy epitomizes the life that Carol lived. She loved God and I know she is free of cancer and with God as I write this. I will miss her more than words can relay. But she will remain in my heart, until with the grace of God; we are joined once more in everlasting life.
