Born September 27, 1924 in Peabody, Massachusetts; died October 23, 2010 in The Villages, Florida. Mr. Zakas recently moved from Peabody, MA with his wife to be closer to their daughter, Cheryl in Summerfield, FL. He proudly serviced our country during WW II in the US Navy. He was a member of St. Vasilios, Peabody, Massachusetts. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Carol A. of Peabody, Massachusetts; daughter, Maryanne Garanham of Salem, Massachusetts, daughter, Cheryl Cochran of Summerfield, Florida; son, Jon Zakas of South Africa, Angelo Zakas of Peabody, Massachusetts, daughter, Charleen Libby of Peabody, Massachusetts, daughter, Cathy Russell of Peabody, Massachusetts; brother, Angelo Zakas and sister, Aileen L'Abbe, 20 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
