Uncle Al I will miss you so much. I enjoyed the times you came to Vermont to visit throughout the years even afer Dad passed away. You have always been such an important part of our lives esp for me in the early years and we all lived in Saxtons River. You are a wonderful Uncle and everyone will miss you. I am saddened I could not be there to share w/ your family your parting of this world. I know you are at peace now and no longer in pain. Al embrassed living life, family and friends. He was a teacher. He would share his knowledge of life as he knew it to who ever would listen. I am fortunate to be a part of his family. Mike and I have enjoyed the special time with Pop's and his stories of his childhood and his family as he knew it. We have so many memories. Al showed us Canada where his pepere had a dairy. He decided he did not want that for his future and learned carpentry and worked hard to master his craft. He met Rebecca and they started their family. He moved from Mass. to Miami where Pop's built a home, raised children, then moved to Ocala to build a bussiness that he and Mom worked together with their family to make a success. He and Mom were able to retire and slow down a little and, traveled with family and friends. He then lost Mom and special family members but decided to still travel and live life to the fullest. He met Judy and was able to continue to travel and start a new life. He went to every state but one. He wanted to share the family heritage with us, so, we visited family cemetaries with relatives of the past. He took pride in showing us the family we did not get to meet. He took us on many trips and they turned into adventures. We loved every one. We saw a lot of the country we may not have He made sure to stop and see family along the way. I will miss him very much. I am grateful to have known him and to have been able to have him in my life and my childrens' lives. You were a great teacher of life and how to live it Pop's. I will listen. I will keep your family tradition strong.

Dear Madore Family,
I don't know where to begin. I'm sincerely sorry for your loss. Al was a great man, a true human being whose love and generosity were incomparable to anyone I have ever known.
I remember all the things he did for me when I was growing up, and I still use a lot of what he taught me today. The most important thing he taught me was to stand on my own two feet, and to believe in myself, and be my own man.
Al always stood up for what he believed in, he never backed down from anything or anyone. Imagine the guts it took to pack up your entire family and first move from Massachusetts to Miami, and then from Miami to Belleview, to start your own business, with your wife and three kids who knew absolutely nothing about carpentry, or mill work, but he made it work with his tenacious drive and will to power.
Later on in life I realized Al was not just a step-father to me, he was a trmendous mentor, and the best friend a young man could have asked for. There wasn't anything Al wouldn't have done for me. I do, or say something everyday of my life that I learned from Al, and I will continue to do so, because it's the things you do in everyday life tha define who you are, and Al did everything to the best of his ability everyday. He was a fun loving man who enjoyed every drop of life and tried ro make sure whoever he was around did also.
