Obituary of Helen Elizabeth Crone

Helen E. Crone, 89, of Dunnellon, FL, passed away at home on Thursday, November 11, 2010. Born in Martin, Georgia on July 4, 1921, daughter to the late Earley B. and Mamie (Kelly) Thomas, she moved to Ocala in 1943 from Georgia. Helen was a Charter Member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and Ocala West United Methodist Church, both of Ocala where she remained very active with the youth, the United Methodist Women and adult choir. She was Director of the kindergarten at First Baptist Church of Ocala for 4 years; Director of Jack and Jill Day Care Center, the first day care center to open in Ocala; Director of Stay and Play Daycare and worked as social activities director with nursing homes for 6 years. Helen is preceded in death by her daughter Thomelen Rizzo and son Pete Fisher. She is survived by her sons; Tim Faine of Dunnellon and Fred Fisher of Tallahassee; sisters, Hazel Daniels of GA and Hilda Sparkman Livsey of Ocala. Also 9 grandchildren,13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 2:00PM at Ocala West United Methodist Church.
