Obituary of Venece I. Harmon

Venece I. Harmon, 87, passed away November 15, 2010 at Emeritus at Ocala West in Ocala. She was born in Brooklyn, NY. Mrs. Harmon was a secretary/bookkeeper in the construction business. Mrs. Harmon was a veteran and served as a Wave in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She enjoyed easy listening music and mahjong. Mrs. Harmon moved from Long Island, NY to Gainesville, FL in 1973 and then on to Ocala in 1991. She leaves behind one son, Wayne Harmon, of Ocala; one daughter, Janice Barning, of Mt. Kisco, NY; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Kathryn, and Kellie Harmon, and Lia Barning; and two great-grandchildren, Macin Woods and Marleigh Martinez. Mrs. Harmon was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Joseph Harmon in 2006. Funeral Service will be Friday, November 19, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services - TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala, with Dr. Raymond E. Waite officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 2:00 PM following the service at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with military honors provided by Angela Santos VFW Post #4781 of Ocala.
