Matra Wilkinson Story. Matra was born in Daytona Beach, FL on August 19, 1927 to the late Eva and William Cowen in Daytona Beach, FL. She left this life to go to her Father in Heaven on November 19, 2010. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Ocala and moved to Pineville, NC in 2005. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Edgar, her parents and her siblings. Matra lived her life in a way that brought honor and praise to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Matra loved participating in her church, her Sunday school groups and serving children. She left to go home to the Lord after suffering many years from the effects of Alzheimer disease. Many will remember her with love in their hearts. She leaves behind her two sons, Michael W. Wilkinson (Debra) of Ocala, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren: Bruce E. Wilkinson (Jane) of Matthews, NC, 4 grandchildren and 3 great -grandchildren and a daughter, Janiece Money (Jeff) and 3 grandchildren of Cocoa Beach, FL. Matra was also cherished by her nephews and their families: William Holt and Roger Holt of Leesburg, FL and Stan Cowen of St. Petersburg, FL. Graveside services will be held on November 27, 2010 at 10:00am in the Shady Rest Cemetery in Holly Hills, FL. Family and friends are invited to attend and will gather at 2300 North Atlantic Ave, Clubhouse, Daytona Beach, FL to share favorite memories of Matra after the graveside service.
