Our deepest sympathy is extended to Jean and the extended family. Rick has been a part of our lives as long as we can remember. Whether it was at the pool in the summer, coming together at Northwest Jr. High with many of our other friends, moving onto Reading High School to graduate in '66, spending time together in Hawaii snorkeling and dining with our personal "tour guides", meeting at our house and gathering other members of our group when all were in Reading, or later attending the Class of '66 activities and reunions, we will always have our memories of you and our fun times, my friend. Rick will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

My heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to all of Rick's family. I just had a stroke 2 months ago and will be unable to attend the service. I knew Rick at Pearl Harbor and Norfolk, Virginia when I was still learning the trade. He taught me a lot, but never let me interrupt his golf game! Fair Winds and Following Seas Rick, we will all miss you.

My young cousin Rick taught me some lessons in life. Most recently he taught me perserverence as, for the past few years, he battled a myriad of maladies. Originally, when I was his occassional babysitter, I learned how far a jar of baby food goes when it's smeared over two people. Later, he taught me the "Ah Factor." What a concept: the "Ah Factor." I have applied it effectively a few times. He and Jean moved so any times during their careers that they had to develop it:
"Do we really need this?"
"Ah...."
"Throw it out!"
I know his last move was upward and he won't need a lot of stuff there. Also, he'll always have a place in my heart, and he'll never be moving from there.

Rick was born the year I went into the Navy. We worked together in the 70's and had lunch everyday, most times with his lovely wife Jean. He was outstanding in all his endevours and loved his girls. I always wanted to visit them in the Villages, but thankfully, I'll meet him in heaven. Whoever said, "Only the good die young" was right. Farewell my good friend. You will be missed, but not forgotten. Willie

Rick was a shipmate and friend who left a big footprint in our military community. He and Jean will always be remembered as a joyful couple and fun to share life with. Sheri and I both wish the family the very best of life and pray that you all will cherish your husband, father and grandfather's memory.
