Obituary of Dewitt William Taylor
Dewitt William Taylor, 95 of Cedar Key passed away Dec. 7, 2010 at Haven Hospice of the Tri Counties in Chiefland. He was born in Cedar Key in 1914, the youngest of 12 children and graduated from Cedar Key High School in 1934. He left to pursue a career as a State Health Inspector, returned to Cedar Key upon his retirement in 1970 and resided there until his death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedar Key. He enjoyed music, playing the piano and organ and he was most proud of his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Nellie Mae Taylor of Cedar Key, sons Robert D. Taylor of Frostproof and Mel Taylor of Tallahassee, grandson Rob Taylor, great granddaughters Michelle Taylor, Robin Taylor and Heather Morgan and 2 great great grandchildren Shaylee Taylor and Mickey Taylor, all of Tallahassee.
Graveside services will be Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Cedar Key Cemetery with Rev. Todd Pope officiating
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Taylor's memory to Cedar Key First Baptist Church, 717 2nd Street, Cedar Key, FL 32625.
