Obituary of Carl William Colson

Carl Colson, 73 of Chiefland, went home to Heaven January 5th. He is a lifelong resident of Chiefland and a charter member of Chiefland Baptist Church. He worked for many years as an automobile mechanic for White Ford and retired from the City of Chiefland. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and spent over 40 years serving his LORD at Chiefland Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Colson of Chiefland, 2 daughters, Tonya (John) Townsend of Chiefland, Deborah (Tom) McComic of Alexandria LA, 3 sons, Carl (Amanda) Colson of Fanning Springs, Keith Colson and Dwayne (Kara) Colson of Chiefland. 8 grandchildren Jessica, Nicole, Burgandy, Anetra, Tasha, Kelly, Zane and Jason, 4 great-grand children Zackery, Makayla, Elania and Trevor, 4 sisters, Charlotte Langston, Mary Bowen and Cheryl Colson, all of Chiefland and Sandra DeWees of Jacksonville. He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Malissia Colson, 3 brothers, Earl Colson, Glenn Colson and Wendell Colson, a sister, Bonnie Conley and 2 nephews, Randy Martin and Michael Juneau. Funeral Services will be Sat. Jan 8, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Chiefland Baptist Church with Pastor Marty Medford, Pastor Jon Edmisten and Evangelist Ray Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Cherry Sink Cemetery in Trenton, FL. Visitation will be Friday, Jan 7, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
