Obituary of Thomas Griggs

GRIGGS, THOMAS "BUSTER" Ocala - Thomas "Buster" Griggs, 85, passed away on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Lake Gem, FL and lived in Marion County most of his lifetime. He was a retired route salesman for the Ocala Coca Cola Bottling Co. and was a member of Oak-Griner Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and loved working in his yard. He is survived by his sister, Irene Caruthers of Ocala and his brother, Leonard E. (Buck) Griggs of Ocala and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Lillian Griggs and his parents, Emmett E. and Iona Griggs. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Frank Grant officiating. A visitation will be on Monday from 6-8 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to Oak-Griner Baptist Church.
