Obituary of Joyce Gloman

Joyce Gloman, 83, of Ocala, FL passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2011 in Ocala, FL. She was born in St. Petersburg, FL on May 20, 1927. She grew up in Norwich, CT and moved to Ocala from Ft. Wayne, IN in 1993. She was a graduate of Connecticut College and Purdue University. Joyce was a member of the First Congregational (UCC) Church of Ocala, FL. She taught at Bishop Dwenger High School in Ft. Wayne, IN where she was chairperson for the Science Department. She was a member of the Board of Directors of Sheltering Arms in Ocala; a shelter for abused and abandoned children. Joyce was a member of the National Association of Biology Teachers. She loved to play the electric organ, read books, play cards and spend time with her family. Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter Carol Kelley in March of 2007. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Irving Gloman, Ocala, FL, daughter Nancy Gloman, Arlington, VA, son David Gloman (Katy Schneider), Northhampton, MA grandchildren; Adam Kelley, Ryan Kelley, Austin Kelley, Amy Gloman, Olive Gloman, Mae Gloman and Ellis Gloman; many great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 3:00PM at the First Congregational United Church of Christ of Ocala. Condolences may be posted to hiers-baxley.net
