Obituary of Thomas Charles Whittle

Whittle, Thomas C. Thomas C. Whittle age 85 of Ocala , died Monday January 10, 2011 at Estelle's Hospice House. Mr. Whittle moved to Ocala from Erie , PA in 1995. He was a retired Electrical Engineer with GE for 40yrs working in their Locomotive Division. A Member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ocala and served as Treasurer for many churches where he was a member. He prepared tax returns for the residents of Rolling Greens for the past 5 yrs for free. His hobbies were many including Golf, Fishing, Bowling , Hunting and traveling the World. He was proud of his Association with the Boys Scouts of America where he was an Assistant Scout Master, Wood Badge recipient and Member of the Order of the Arrow, but his proudest moment was when his two sons received their Eagle Scout Badges. Mr. Whittle was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the US Army. He is Survived by his wife of 55yrs Betty J. Whittle of Ocala, Son Steven Whittle of San Diego, CA; Sister Violet Soukup of Cleveland, OH; 1 Grandson Christopher; he was preceded in death his son Kenneth. Friends may make memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church of Ocala or Munroe Regional Medical Center Foundation in his Memory.
