Obituary of Shirley Channell

BELLEVIEW — Shirley Ann Channell, 71, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011. Mrs. Channell was born in Fayette County, Ohio. She was a retired accounting technician on various Air Force bases for the U.S. government; of the Baptist faith; dedicated volunteer for The Salvation Army and St. Theresa Thrift Shop. Survivors include her husband, Harry I.; son, Rick Gooley; daughters Rebecca Mattox, Robin Taylor, Renee Gooley; brothers Dick, Bob and Lloyd; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 6-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Belleview, with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army or charity of the donor's choice.
