Obituary of Francis James Scott

Francis J. Scott, 80, of Ocala, FL went to be with his Lord and his dear son Robert on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Born in Brooklyn, NY on March 6, 1930, son of the late Andrew and Helen (Heaney) Scott, he moved to Ocala from Long Island, NY in 1986. For 30 years, he worked with the New York City Housing Authority as a Maintenance Supervisor. He served and retired from the US Naval Reserve after 35 years. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, was an Institutional Representative for Boy Scouts of America, a Chairman of the Cub Scouts and was an avid bowler. Francis is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Anna M. Scott, daughters Linda Scott, Santa Fe, NM and Deborah Young (James), Ocala; son Thomas Scott (Charlene), Pompton Lakes, NJ; grandchildren Jennette Ippolito (Anthony), Garrett McKeever, Nicole Scott and Jason Scott; great-grandchildren Nicholas and Adriana Ippolito. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at the Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge Chapel, Ocala.The Funeral Mass will be at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala, on Monday January 24, 2011 at 8:30AM. Entombment will follow at the Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Ocala, with full military honors. Condolences may be posted to hiers-baxley.com
