Obituary of George Cauthen Perry

Perry, George C. George C. "GC" Perry, 85, of Belleview passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Emory Bennett Veterans Nursing Home in Daytona Beach. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Perry is a native of Oxford. A retired cattle rancher, he was past President of Cattlemen's Association and held state and national offices, past President of the Farm Bureau, and active in soil conservation and received several awards for his services, member of the Elks Lodge, member of First Baptist Church of Belleview where he taught Sunday School and is Deacon Emeritus. GC is survived by his sons, Greg (Cissy) and Mark (Tammy) Perry of Belleview; former wife Sharlene; brothers Juddy Perry of Belleview and Jake Perry of Bronson; 4 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Cecil and sister Mary. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Belleview, with Rev. Ronald S. Walker and Rev. Tom Bennett officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Belleview.
