Obituary of John Hunter
THE VILLAGES — John G. Hunter, 87, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011.
Mr. Hunter was born in Erie, Pa., and moved to The Villages from Orlando. He was a retired engineer with Martin-Marietta; a Presbyterian by faith; U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II; member of 6th Marine Division Association; Mayflower Society; SAR; Masonic Tyrian Lodge; DAV; and his hobbies were genealogy; writing memories; listening to music; cinema; computers; cooking; and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; daughters Carol Hunter, Bailey, Colo., Gail Bowen, Homestead; son, John G., Hankamer, Texas; sisters Vivian Stoltz, Meadville, Pa., Barbara Hordusky, The Villages; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services of The Villages, with the funeral following at 5 p.m. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
